Autumn was a busy season for ClinSpec Dx; with the Converge Challenge Finals looming, there were also some personal successes for members of the team. Inventor and Chief Science Officer, Dr Matthew Baker was awarded the Harrison-Meldola Memorial Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry. The award is reserved for the most meritorious and pr
omising original investigators in chemistry and published results of those investigations.
Furthermore, our Clinical Spectroscopist and Research & Development Director, Dr Holly Butler, was awarded a duo of awards at the Scottish Women's Awards 2017 and the Global Game Changer Awards 2017, respectively. The inaugural Scottish Women’s Awards welcomed over 300 guests at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow on August 30th in a celebration of the breadth of talent of female professionals and entrepreneurs in Scotland.The Scottish Women’s Awards recognise the success of women entrepreneurs, business women, professionals, civil servants, charity workers and many more who facilitate Scotland’s development as a country. Holly won the "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" award, up against some tough competition.
Newsquest Media and Innovators Magazine joined forces to launch the Global Game Changers awards to recognise and reward innovation and sustainability at an international level, across all sectors. The event took place on 13th September at The Glasgow Science Centre, where Holly was awarded the "Women in Innovation" award, sponsored by BAE Systems.
